DUBLIN, Ireland – FLY4 Airlines has successfully completed the first comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) event for its Boeing 737NG fleet, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s commitment to operational excellence and aircraft reliability.
Aircraft EI-FFA and EI-FFB, the first of FLY4’s four Boeing 737NG aircraft to undergo heavy maintenance, have emerged from an extensive maintenance check at Turkish Technic’s state-of-the-art facility, demonstrating the airline’s rigorous approach to engineering and technical excellence.
The maintenance event represented far more than routine checks. Beyond standard biennial systems inspections, the programme incorporated a comprehensive structural integrity review, targeting potential airframe issues such as corrosion. Extensive modifications were implemented to enhance both operational performance and passenger experience, ensuring the aircraft meets FLY4’s exacting standards of quality and comfort.
Ian Smith, Director of Engineering & Maintenance at FLY4 Airlines, commented on the achievement: “We are delighted to be partnering with Turkish Technic on our base maintenance operations. We are working closely with them to deliver a high-quality product back to the FLY4 Airlines operation, helping us to achieve high operational reliability and strong customer satisfaction for our customers.”
This meticulously planned maintenance check represents a collaborative effort involving multiple key stakeholders. Beyond FLY4 and Turkish Technic, the project engaged critical partners including TUI for engineering support and original equipment manufacturers Boeing and CFM. An experienced aircraft engineer was on-site throughout the process, ensuring seamless execution and stringent quality control.
The maintenance schedule remains on track and FLY4 anticipates completing maintenance across its entire fleet by the end of February, though the airline maintains flexibility to address any unexpected technical requirements that might emerge during inspection.
For FLY4, this maintenance milestone represents more than mechanical refurbishment—it embodies the airline’s strategic vision of distinguishing itself through an unwavering commitment to quality. By investing meticulously in aircraft maintenance, the airline reinforces its reputation as a high-calibre capacity provider in an increasingly competitive market.
The remaining two Boeing 737NG aircraft are scheduled to undergo similar comprehensive maintenance programmes over the coming weeks, each expected to spend approximately 25 days in the hangar. FLY4 remains dedicated to its core principle: delivering exceptional operational standards that prioritise safety, reliability, and passenger experience.
